Even Santa Buys His Conveyors From Norpak
October 1, 2002

Norpak’s series BA & TA portable conveyors have secured supporting roles in the recent North Pole Productions release of Santa Claus II. Tim Allen stars in the title role of the movie now showing at theatres across Canada. The conveyors are used to assist Santa’s helpers on the toy production lines.

Bill Klassen, one of Norpak’s Vancouver area salesmen, was responsible for securing the order from North Pole Productions. “Our conveyors usually have a more dramatic role” he joked. “They are generally limited to background scenes at airports or in factories. This is the first time they have had a shot at comedy.”

The equipment supplied was ‘off-the-shelf’ standard conveyor that was then modified by the movie’s prop company as required for the various scenes. “They liked the flexibility our standard conveyors are able to provide”, reported Bill.

Gavin Linn, Norpak’s Vice President Sales and Marketing said he does not think Norpak will ‘go Hollywood’ just yet but the past year has been a lot like Christmas. “For all the talk of a slow down in the world economy, our business is set to double- again!” He credits the company’s growth to innovative solutions such as Bill Klassen’s sales success with Santa Claus II. “Our salesmen have been able to attract customers by offering them world class solutions. It does not matter whether it is a large custom designed system or pieces of standard conveyor- you have to offer solutions. The whole company is based around this approach.”

Norpak Handling Limited is now Canada’s largest systems integrator. The company is headquartered in Port Hope with offices in Montreal, Oshawa and Vancouver plus a distributor network across the country. It uses the skills and knowledge of its employees combined with excellence in supplier resources to achieve customers’ goals.
