What Is A Chain Conveyor?

Components Of A Chain Conveyor

Chain Links

Chain links are multiple plates that are held together to form the chain, the core of the conveyor system. The link is made up of two inner and outer plates, that is held together with the help of a pin or screw.

Rollers

If chains move on the track by themselves, the friction will be too much and lead to damage. To eliminate this, small conveyor rollers are placed between the inner plates of the chain links. They reduce friction between the chain and the track.

Pins

Pins are the connectors used between the plates of a chain link. Apart from holding it all together, they are also designed to let the chain be flexible and pivot if required. 

Bushings

Bushings are a type of internal bearings that connect the pins and rollers mentioned above. Their purpose is to reduce friction between these components.

Sprockets

Sprockets are toothed gears or wheels that engage with the chain in the chain conveyor. This allows the chain to either pull or push objects along the track.
